FEATURED AUTHOR

Lorrie Lockhart

God can use the smallest life to impact the world.

Little Girl, Big God shows how God takes a country girl from the hills of Kentucky and plants her in the jungles as a missionary. In her memoir, Lorrie Lockhart illustrates how God used her ordinary life and multiplied it in extraordinary ways.

Lorrie Lockhart was born in rural Kentucky to loving parents who knew very little about God. Through missionaries, she found God and learned that, though small in stature, God could use her. At a young age, Lorrie felt God drawing her into missions.

She and her husband Austin spent many years on the island of New Guinea teaching primitive tribes about God’s love and redemption. Little Girl, Big God chronicles Lorrie and Austin’s journey to become missionaries and the work among the people.

Multiple photos allow readers a historical look into missionary life in the 1950s and 1960s, and the book covers the challenges of linguistics as well as raising a family so far from home.

  • Thrive: Life-Giving Disciplines for a Chaotic World.

For many of us, life feels more chaotic than intentional, more frustrating than fulfilling, more exhausting than life-giving, or a crazy quilt of all of the above. We’re harried and hurried and hungry for more.

Jesus sees our soul-weariness and invites us to a different way of life—a way to thrive.

In Thrive, Meyer leads us along ancient paths to discover rhythms, practices, and relationships which help us thrive today. With wisdom from the monastic Rule of St. Benedict lighting your way, in each chapter you’ll consider your own way of life: your values and priorities, gifts and abilities, dreams and longings, your relationship with Christ and one another.

Thrive guides you in writing a simple rule of life, a gentle guideline expressing your desires and intentions as Christ’s followers. A rule of life is not about keeping rules, but keeping relationship—a life-giving relationship with Jesus Christ. Thrive will help you answer the question, what kind of life does Christ invite me to live?

  • What do you do when your adoption falls through?   Rachelle D. Alspaugh survived and wrote a book about her family’s “failed” adoption.

This second book chronicles her family’s second pursuit at international adoption. After five years will Rachelle finally bring home a child? Despite the odds stacked against them, can God sway the minds of Colombia’s adoption committee?

Rachelle weaves her poetry and master storytelling, unfurling a story of trust, perseverance, redemption, and a love that never gives up.

Endorsements   “This is an excellent read that will touch your heart and enlighten your mind.” Regina Stone Matthews, Award-Winning Children’s Book Author (When I Dream series, Tracks in the Snow, Words and Actions), Storyteller, Speaker

“Beautifully vulnerable.” Mary E. DeMuth, Author of The Wall Around Your Heart, Not Marked, Thin Places, and other fiction and nonfiction books.
